Tilt-rotor VTOL

A 3D-printed VTOL that should take off like a helicopter and fly like a plane: three rotors, two of them tilting.

What it is

An experimental VTOL airframe that I design and 3D print myself. It has three rotors: two at the front that tilt, and one fixed at the tail.

How it is meant to fly

  • Hover: all three rotors point up and lift it like a tricopter.
  • Transition: the two front rotors tilt forward and the wing starts carrying the weight.
  • Cruise: it flies on the wing, which takes far less energy than hovering.

Where it is

On the bench, between print runs. It's a work in progress, and this page will change with it.
